16 of the Pz/PzG divs may be in bad shape as well because they are still using outdated mot rifle squads with nothing left in pool. AFAIR the mot rifle + do not even have an upgrade path.
BTW where does the majority of this unused manpower comes from? -> All other nation pools should be empty.

gingerbread -> RE: Camerone in Berlin (11-1944) (12/11/2013 9:04:03 PM)

Bulgaria's MP multiplier could be set to 0 from the beginning as the men are never used. It only causes this kind of confusion.

+1
You're right. The sum of the parts does not restore the total figure

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (11-1944) (12/14/2013 8:00:53 PM)

Turn 180, 16th november 1941, 84 VP left

Schascha extends his bridgehead on the western bank of the Oder. He controls now 4 hexes. Without AP, I'm unable to optimize my organization. My counterattack fails.

In Hungary, I continue to fall back.

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (11-1944) (12/18/2013 8:56:42 PM)

Turn 181, 30th November 1944

Schascha extends his bridge head over the Oder. He his now 20 miles from Berlin.

He also attacks across the Bohemian moutains. Thanks to the terrain, the line should hold several turns.

In Hungary, I continue to retreat. I show a strange result

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (11-1944) (12/18/2013 9:14:16 PM)

I post my screens 1/2 turns behind the game. I've currently a strange unit, never involved in any fight.

It's closed from the front, Under command, supplied but never does anything

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (11-1944) (12/20/2013 9:37:28 PM)

I change my mind and decide to fight for Budapest. I find it Worth to keep Hungarian army and the VP on my side

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/20/2013 9:47:49 PM)

Turn 182, 7th december 1944

1) Berlin

SHC earns ground but I counterattack with my best units. I have some luck: 2/1. Schascha loses 240 AFV but it doesn't matter for him.

2) Silesia

Schascha tries to cross the moutains and attacks also through the Ostrava gap

3) Hungary

SHC is too confident and makes no recon... He hasn't discovered Budapest's defences yet

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/21/2013 11:10:26 AM)

Turn 183, 14th december 1944

Bulge attack ready! When Paris will be retaken, I will be able to send my wonder weapons to the east!

A general wiew of the the front. as said Freddy Mercury, I'm "Under presure"

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/21/2013 11:12:40 AM)

Closest view on Berlin

Heavy losses!! But I loose ground. Berlin is under fire.

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/21/2013 11:14:49 AM)

In Hungary Schascha is still full confident... I'm waiting for him

And a view of my pool. Almost dry

I'm pretty sure this will end in a major soviet victory. April is too far for me.

For me winter 43/44 was a real surprise. In november 1943 I was really confident. A draw looked easy to reach. Mid January, I understood the SHC was too strong.

And the decisive battle occured end August 1944 when Schascha trapped 20 divs.

Great job sticking it out, the reason you did not get a draw is very simply. It had nothing to do with player skills.

The swapping bug and an armament drain that is still present caused your army to fall apart.

You started long before 1.07.10 so even when it was patched in you had wasted 100,000 of armament point, which weakened your army, which caused SHC to win battles and gain morale that it would not have for another 6 months.
This swapping bug caused the snowball to get rolling and by the time it was patched out it was to late the Red Machine had gained steam many months before it should have.

By design the German army starts to fall apart in mid 43 and crumbles in late 43 or early 44, BUT once after .10 this was 80% fixed.

There are still heavy drains on GHC armaments, but they will all be fixed when .14 comes out.

Your game is once of 20 I know of that had the very same issue happen.

Might want to put on hold and game once it gets to September 42 as there are still some minor fixs that can cause a snowball in 43 still.

The 4 to 6 months you lost would have easly gotten you to mud season and a draw.

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/21/2013 11:02:57 PM)

Turn 184, 21th december 1944

80 VP left

General view of the front, SHC is attacking all along the front line. He has reached clear hexes near Zwittau

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/21/2013 11:09:36 PM)

Focus on Berlin

I counterattack north of Berlin but SHC advances cannot be stopped.

In Hungary, no SHC recon. I will be able to counterattack next turn. I perhaps shouldn't have set my Pzd as reserve. He will notice it...

And finally, my best units are from the Luftwaffe

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (12-1944) (12/23/2013 9:55:21 AM)

Turn 185, 28th december 1944

Bulge offensive failed..

SHC is at the gates of Berlin

In Hungary, before my moves

And my counterattack, it's not a hammer but it's good for my personal morale

In Silesia, Mountains won't protect me anymore

And Silesia, moutains won't protect me longer

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/23/2013 4:55:31 PM)

Turn 186, 4th January 1945

Good news, war will end before the end of the year: e-adolf told it.[:D]

Maybe it will end before the end of the month [:(]

An overview of the OOB, fights are heavy and SHC is burning AFV and aircrafts at a high rate!

I don't understand the evolution of my available rifle squads... I checked the result twice.

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/23/2013 5:02:24 PM)

Turn 186, 4th January 1944

A genral viaw of the battle.

Note the heroic resistance of Berlin despite twice 6000+ MCV for SHC and 84 engineer units!!! Berlin's industry is desroyed.

I also show the evolution of my Me262 which concerned me some turns ago.. good, but late.

And in Hungary SHC strikes back!

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/28/2013 6:20:48 PM)

Turn 187, 11th january 1945

Berlin has fallen, but the fight will continue until the "final victory"

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/28/2013 6:32:37 PM)

Turn 187, 11th january 1945

Bad news this week:
- Berlin has Fallen (see the attack MCV of 10900!!!!), but we resist in the western part of the city
- Elbe river has been crossed by russians tank corps. Our counterattack against the spearhead was a tremendous success (see below)
- Dresden is almost surrounded
- Budapest is under fire but with a strong garrison.
- The Danube has been crossed north of Budapest

But our fighters are Kings of the air, I show the evolution of the laziest one (III KG J 55)

Thanks

I'm also enjoying this end game. Even if it's lost!

It's also a period rarely reached by the players.

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/29/2013 2:42:32 PM)

Just to show the intensity of the battle, the evolution of the OOB.

Schascha is burning AFV and airplanes at an incredible rate!

But I still don't understand the sharp decline of my rifle squads ready...

STEF78 -> Camerone in Berlin (1-1945) (12/30/2013 6:01:27 PM)

Turn 188, 18th January 1945

66 VP left, the end is close...

Schascha advances in Saxony and will soon cut my army in 2 parts.

Budapest will fall next turn.

Current turn losses are impressive!

My Me262 are really efficient...
